Re: X Factor 2008
I was disappointed that Cheryl sent that blonde girl home. You know, the one who's mum had died when she was younger. I don't know her name. I thought she was really good.

I think Simon could have the winner again, this lad Austin as a brilliant voice, just wish he'd stop blubbering like a girl all the time.
Sing for heroes
X FACTOR’S 12 finalists sing their hearts out as they record the Help For Heroes charity single — dubbed an “honour” by Simon Cowell.
Wearing the Sun-backed campaign’s distinctive wristbands, the telly talent show hopefuls belted out a stirring version of Mariah Carey’s hit Hero.
The historic single — X Factor’s first ever for charity — will go on sale later this month to raise cash to help Britain’s wounded troops.
Last night show creator Simon, 48, predicted it would be a Number One hit — and explained why he jumped at the chance when The Sun approached him with the idea. He said:
It’s too good an opportunity to pass up. It is a great way to pay something back to the men and women who give so much for this country. And it shows what music can do — it shows it can be a force for good.
I didn’t know just how much Help For Heroes does until it was brought to my attention by The Sun.
Quite frankly, I was appalled that these guys risk their lives every day for us and don’t get much in return.
They are our unsung heroes and I am honoured to be working for them and alongside them. I want to stress that all the proceeds from this single will go to this brilliant cause.
Millions of viewers will see the finalists perform the 1993 power ballad — picked for its inspirational lyrics and fitting title — live on the ITV1 talent show on October 25.
That will also be when judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue hear it for the first time — along with maimed servicemen and women who will be guests of honour in the audience.
Simon said: “It’s going to be amazing. I don’t expect many dry eyes in the studio when they hear it for the first time. This song will go straight to the top of the charts.”
Help For Heroes has offered to split the money from record sales with the Royal British Legion’s poppy fund.
The single will be available to download immediately after its Saturday night telly debut on October 25. It will be available in shops two days later — at the start of the two-week run up to Remembrance Sunday. Help For Heroes is instrumental in aiding rehabilitation of Our Girls and Boys injured fighting in war zones.
They include Marine Ben McBean, 21 - hailed “the real hero” by Help For Heroes supporter Prince Harry after Ben lost an arm and a leg in Afghanistan — and Private Chris Herbert, 19, whose leg was blown off in Iraq. In just one year, the charity has raised £12million to fund vital equipment for the Army’s Headley Court rehab centre in Epsom, Surrey.
Simon is not the only big name on X Factor to back Help For Heroes.
Judge Louis, 56, and former colleague Sharon Osbourne, 55, were among the first celebs to wear the charity’s wristband.
Its founder Bryn Parry was delighted at the latest boost. He said: “Everyone’s thrilled at the support for Our Boys and Girls.
“We hope Sun readers will do their bit to make this a hit and demonstrate that we really care.”

I like Austin too but his incessant bubbling is doing my head in.
I wonder if the Dermot-gate saga was before or after Amy got kicked out..

Re: X Factor 2008
I knew this guy wasn't gonna make it to the live shows, he's on stage at our local club this Saturday
Re: X Factor 2008
He had a great voice but I did not like him as a person. He kept on bringing on the sob stories and trying to create hype around himself in the papers. Bit of a tosser.

You have a point there but I reckon this guy is getting more abuse than he deserves by the public in general. I even know some other people who think this guy is unforgiveable and treat him as if he is pure evil. And while im talking to these people, listening to how much they hate him, I just can't help think that there are hundreds of far worse things a guy could do in society.
I wasn't aiming that at you Baz. Just wanted to write down my thourghts on this subject somewhere and see if there are people who are lenient towards this guy or even believe him.

Your point is taken. Some people do go over the top with their views and actions. I just never warmed to him and based my judgement from what I saw.
