Razorlight: 'Making new album 'Slipway Fires' was easy'
Razorlight's Johnny Borrell has claimed that the band's forthcoming new album 'Slipway Fires' was their easiest to make so far.
Speaking to BBC 6music, the frontman revealed that the band were surprised at how well the writing and recording process had gone
"Razorlight in pleasure to make shocker!" he said. "Yeah, it was really good.
"We wanted to record it quickly, not over-produce it or overthink it too much. We felt like we had the strongest songs we've had so far, and when you've got that material there's not a lot else to do but just go in and record it."
The frontman added that the album, which was recorded in two months in London, was inspired by the success of Razorlight's previous work.
"People say it every album - difficult first album, difficult second, ah, tricky third, ah, fourth but for me, writing-wise, it was like exploring the shadows cast by the success of the first and second one," he said.
'Slipway Fires' is released on November 3.
