Everything is Borrowed - The Streets
After the self-hating squall that was 2006's The Hardest Way to Make an Easy Living, Mike Skinner returns with an album that's calmer.
Only one song (Heaven for the Weather) has the jack-the-lad swagger fans will remember from the garage MC's early hits, such as Don't Mug Yourself.
Instead we find balmy gospel organs (the title track), rippling waltzes (On the Edge of a Coin) and even a folky lullaby (Strongest Person I Know). His raps used to focus microscopically on the mundane; here he zooms out to grapple with the universal: belief in God, climate change.
Compared with Skinner's previous three albums, Everything Is Borrowed is more philosophical, mature. But it's also a bit less fun.

The title track is amazing. A lot of people can relate to the subject as well.
