Arrest warrant issued for ex-BBC Radio 1 DJ 2-15


An arrest warrant has been issued for ex-BBC Radio 1 DJ Andy Kershaw.

The radio presenter has allegedly broken a restraining order on the Isle Of Man which bans him from contacting his ex-partner Juliette Banner, according to BBC News.

Andy Kershaw was sentenced to three months in jail in January for breaching an order banning him from contacting Banner, but the DJ was released after forty-four days.

He later admitted breaching a restraining order and was given a six-month suspended jail term.

Kershaw was advised by Manx High Bailiff Michael Moyle to leave the island and live with his mother in Rochdale to help him sort out his personal problems.

A spokesman for the Isle Of Man Constabulary confirmed today (September 10) that an arrest warrant had been issued.

Kershaw is best known for championing world music, particularly on his show on BBC Radio 3.

Why is there a restraining order? Did anything more serious happen thats not in this article? Cause I don't remember there been a law that said people who are divorced can't contact there partner or face a 3 month prison sentance
