Feeder's Grant Nicholas has released a statement about the bus accident involving his band's touring crew last weekend (October 24).

The group were travelling from Glasgow to Lincoln overnight when driver Colin Campbell noticed smoke and flames coming from the back of the bus. He immediately pulled onto the hard shoulder and woke the 13 sleeping crew members to evacuate them.

Moments after everyone was safely away from the vehicle it burst into flames.

Speaking about the incident, Feeder's frontman said: "It's terrifying to think what might have happened, just shocking. We can't praise Colin enough for his quick thinking and action, he saved all their lives. We'd also like to thank the police and firefighters who dealt with the situation and of course, JD Sports for their generosity."

Following a quick call to the Lincoln store, the sports fashion retailer provided the crew with £800 worth of clothing and footwear to replace their personal belongings lost in the fire.

Feeder's tour was unaffected by the accident, and continues until December 2.
