Battle is on to bag ‘must have’ game
Parents are rushing to get their hands on the latest 'must have' game which is predicted to be the Christmas bestseller.
Described as a cross between Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, the Bakugan craze – expected to net £50million in sales – is being backed by a lavish nationwide roadshow.
Shops are already stocking up on the toy early to avoid a repetition of last year's fiasco when Nintendo Wiis were in short supply.
The Bakugan game will already be familiar to viewers of a series of the same name on the digital channel Cartoon Network.
Plastic balls known as Bakugan Battle Brawlers are rolled across game cards and 'explode' to reveal monsters with names like Ravenoid and Gargonoid ready to take one another on when two players land on the same card.
A starter pack is priced at £12.99 but there are hundreds of £3.99 figures to collect too.
'Bakugan is huge in the US and set to be the hottest must-have Christmas toy in the UK this year,' said Stuart Grant of toy retailer The Entertainer.
'We will be selling out fast.'
A spokesman for Bakugan maker, Spin Master, said: 'We are working with retailers to make sure they have enough to deal with demand. Our factories are working flat out.'

I like the way they say starter pack, you know that their's more to come and 1 figure at £3.99 anyway that toy looks like it's aim at a much younger age group.
