Wombats plan to recruit Les Dennis for Christmas song

The Wombats are set to release a new single, 'My Circuitboard City', on February 9, after releasing a charity single, 'Is It Christmas?', on December 15.

Drummer Dan Haggis told NME.COM that the trio were looking to sign up scouse TV presenters Les Dennis or Paul O'Grady to deliver the spoken-word intro to 'Is It Christmas?', the proceeds of which will go to MENCAP.

"They're two of Liverpool's biggest celebrities," he said. "It'd be cool to get them on it."

Meanwhile, forthcoming single 'My Circuitboard City' is a brand new song that doesn't appear on the band's debut album 'A Guide To Love, Loss And Desperation'.

"It's about coming off tour, going back home and getting used to normal life," Haggis explained. "Touring life is so far from reality."
