Geraldine McQueen - Once Upon A Christmas

It was hard not to crack a smile when Geraldine McQueen and her ludicrous 'Winner's Song' stole Leon Jackson's chart thunder back in October - unless, of course, your name happens to be Simon Cowell. Her confidence bolstered by victory, the Take That-humping Irish tranny is now battling the X Factor champ for the Christmas number one spot.

'Once Upon A Christmas Song', another Gary Barlow co-write, is an affectionate send-up of the festive favourites we sing "over and over and over again" every December. It's catchy enough to get Melvin from accounts shaking his rump at the office Christmas party, silly enough to raise a few titters and there are enough sleigh bells here to make Rudolf think it's time for a trot round the Lapland tundra. The joke hasn't worn thin yet, but Peter Kay should probably pack away his Michelle McManus wig on Boxing Day.
