McFly are to perform the 2008 BBC Children in Need single and will be donating all profits from the single to the charity's 2008 Appeal.

The double-A sided single features the track Do Ya, from their current album Radio:ACTIVE, and a cover version of Rod Stewart and The Faces' Seventies hit Stay With Me.

The band will sing both songs, live on the night.

Tom from McFly says: "We're so honoured to be releasing the official single for Children in Need.

"We've performed several times on the live show in the past and it's always been an amazing night with a fantastic atmosphere.

"Hopefully our single can help raise more money than ever for what is such a great cause."

For fans eager to be amongst the first to get their hands on the new single, it will be available to pre-order on the night of the 14 November as a two-track download.

The single will be available to download from Sunday 23 November and commercially available in stores from Monday 24 November

I wonder if they'll do as well as last year's total, what with people having less cash.

I suppose people may give less Dave during these trying times.

Help Children In Need by topping-up your mobile at an ATM in November

Every time you top-up a prepay mobile phone at an ATM throughout November, leading banks and mobile phone operators will automatically give a 5 pence donation to BBC Children in Need 2008.

The mobile phone top-up service is available from almost 50,000 ATMs across the country and offers you a quick and convenient way to put credit on your mobile phone. You can also treat your family and friends by topping-up their mobile phones at an ATM. This service is free to use - simply select how much you would like to top-up your prepay mobile, and the money is taken from your account and immediately credited to your mobile phone.

The BBC Children in Need mobile phone top-up initiative is being backed by major banks and leading mobile phone operators, working with payment specialist VocaLink. Together they will provide a new and innovative way of raising money to help the charity.

Firstly, make sure you tune in to BBC1 on Friday night as Will will be appearing on BBC Children in Need alongside a host of other stars (including Girls Aloud and the Sugababes) to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. Check out the website here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/.

Vroom, Vroom!!
Valentino Rossi, six times MotoGP World Champion and one of the world's best-loved sportsmen, is doing his bit to support BBC Children in Need.

Rossi will be competing in this year's Wales Rally GB in December, the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, and he'll be driving a specially developed car. But if that wasn't cool enough, it will have the ever-smiling Pudsey on it too!

Andrew Coe, from the team which has organised the event, said: "We're delighted to welcome Valentino Rossi to this year's Wales Rally GB... He is a supreme ambassador for all forms of motor sport, as well as a remarkably-gifted sportsman."

Pudsey is thrilled that Rossi is supporting him, and Rossi said: "I'm also delighted to be supporting BBC Children in Need, which does such vital work in the UK. It's a great charity and one I'm very pleased to be involved in."

We wish him the very best of luck!
